woman burnedPakistan mobs commit yet another brutal and senseless murder of a pregnant mother of three and her husband.  The slaughter of the innocent couple occurred in the village of Kot Radha Kishan in Punjab province, approximately 40 miles southwest of Lahore, Pakistan.  A mob who had been enraged by rumors that a Christian couple had defiled a Quran senselessly beat the innocent man and his pregnant wife on Nov. 4 as they kicked, stomped, beat and burned them to death.

Shehzad Masih and his wife, Shama, were butchered by a mob according to an investigator with the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan; the violence was instigated by the owner of the brick kiln where the couple worked after he complained to local mosque leaders that Shama had burned a Quran. The young couple had reportedly been in a disagreement with the owner, who claimed they owed him 100,000 Pakistani rupees ($970).

Mosque loudspeakers throughout the surrounding communities announced the offense and called on faithful Muslims tochristians_-homes-burnt-in-lahore take vengeance due to the alleged disgrace of their holy book.  An attempt was made by the police to intervene in the attack but they retreated since they were outnumbered.  No mention was made by the police for the reason no back up was dispatched.   Reports indicate that a brick kiln manager attempted to hid the couple in an office, however Islamic thugs climbed on the roof of building and ripped a hole through the roof.  Apparently, they beat the couple senseless to a tractor and dragged them through the street but eventually, the two were taken to the brick kiln, where they were stuffed into holes used to stoke up the kiln’s fire.   Witnesses indicate that even though Shama was obviously pregnant and pleaded for mercy, they responded by kicking in the belly before they forced her body into the kiln.   The fire was stoked and consequently was so intense that little remained of their charged bodies was left.

PAKISTAN_-policePolice finally arrived on the scene and arrested more than 40 people involved with the murders, including the brick kiln owner. More arrests are expected in the days to come.   The ten other Christian families working at the kiln have since fled out of fear for their lives.

The next day, nearly 200 people, mostly from the Christian community and human rights organizations, gathered in Lahore to demand justice for the couple and to protest Pakistan’s blasphemy laws. Blasphemy laws are often used by Pakistani Muslims who seek to take advantage for revenge on Christians to settle business disputes, to avoid paying personal debts or revenge for petty personal differences.   In Pakistan, accusations of “blasphemy” becomes a genocidal tool by Islamic radicals    to terrorize and purge Pakistan of all “Christian or other minority groups”.   Last month, the appeal of Asia Bibi, a Christian woman who was sentenced to death for blasphemy in 2010, was rejected by the Lahore High Court. Her case is now before the Supreme Court but has been given little chance to overturn her sentience.

At the time of her death, Shama Bibi was pregnant with the couple’s fourth child. Their three young children, range from burning christians-church 00118 months old to 6 years old.  Relatives are seeking custody of the minor children.  The ruthless butchery of Christians in Pakistan is part of the “Arab Spring” radicalization of Islam going on throughout the world and has resulted in a “zero tolerance” for non-Muslims.   Innocent Christians  are very much threatened as well as any Muslim who attempt to  defend them.  “Christians are being killed in the Islamic world because of their religion. It is a rising genocide that ought to provoke global alarm but does not to date.”
