YAMBIO TOWN 31 March 2106- “This is a great today to see that the two parties from the Government and South Sudan National Liberation Movement have reached a peace agreement to end the violence and suffering of the citizens of Yambio Town in the former Western Equatorial State,” said a person connected to the high level delegation sent to secure peace with the remaining arrow boys still remaining in the bush around Yambio Town today.
He commented that following negotiations between a high-level delegation led by the Deputy Governor Victor Edward Danda in Yambio Town and the arrow boys still in the bush following clashes with The Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) troops in recent months concluded on Tuesday afternoon with an agreement for peace and security. A signing ceremony to be held in Freedom Park on Saturday will be officially announced today.
Neither President Salva Kiir Mayardit or a spokesperson with the presidents office could not be reached for comment. However, it is rumored that the president is reviewing the agreement in Juba at this time.
